How much does bus and coach hire cost in Sydney in 2026?
Indicative weekday starting rates: 14-seater from $110/hr ($700 half day), 18-seater from $130/hr ($800 half day), 27-seater from $155/hr ($900 half day), 41-seater from $175/hr ($1,050 half day), 53 to 57-seater from $200/hr ($1,300 half day). Weekend, peak season and distance loadings apply. Email for your exact quote , back in under 30 minutes weekdays.
Is a driver included with coach hire?
Always. We don't do self-drive. Every Urban Legends Tour Co charter includes a fully licensed professional driver with 10+ years average experience. They're locals, they know the roads, they know the venues, and they know how to look after a group.
What size buses and coaches do you have?
Owned fleet: 14-seater Mercedes Sprinter VIP, 18-seater Mercedes Sprinter Luxury (the party bus), 27-seater Yutong D7 Executive (2024), two 41-seater luxury coaches (King Long and Bonluck President 10). Partner fleet: 53 to 57-seater coaches for larger groups, plus a 70-seat double decker on request for specialist jobs. Groups from 4 to 200+ covered.
Can we bring alcohol on the bus?
On private charters where you organise your own venues, BYO in moderation is totally fine , just let us know upfront and keep it respectful. On organised tour packages where we book the wineries or breweries, no BYO (venues hold us responsible for how guests arrive). Stay seated while moving. Our drivers can end trips if things get out of hand.
How far in advance should I book?
For standard charters, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is usually fine. For peak season (14 Nov to 26 Dec), weddings and major events, 2 to 3 months ahead. Last-minute bookings possible if we have availability.
Do you service all Sydney suburbs?
All of them. CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Western Sydney, Sutherland Shire, South Sydney, the Hills District , the lot. We also do day trips to Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong, Southern Highlands and anywhere else in NSW.
What's included in the price?
Professional driver, fuel, tolls, GST, Bluetooth audio, climate control. USB charging at every seat on 27+ seater coaches. Water available on request at $50 per day per vehicle. The quote is the price you pay.
How fast will I get a quote?
Under 30 minutes weekdays. Under 24 hours weekends. Email us your date, pickup location, destination and rough group size , we'll come back with options and pricing.
Do you do long-distance and multi-day trips?
Absolutely. Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Canberra, South Coast, Byron Bay, the Snowy Mountains, interstate to Melbourne or Brisbane. For multi-day trips driver accommodation and meal allowances are factored into the quote.
Are your buses suitable for school excursions?
Yes. All vehicles are seatbelt-equipped. All drivers hold current Working With Children Checks and the correct licence class (HR for 27+ seat coaches). NSW Government accredited, fully insured. We handle excursions, carnivals, camp transfers, school formals, Canberra tours and inter-school sport.
Do you have luggage trailers available?
Yes. Luggage trailers are available for the 14, 18 and 27-seaters. Perfect for airport transfers with heavy luggage, school camps, festival trips. The 41 and 57-seaters have underfloor luggage bays built in.
What's your cancellation policy?
14+ days before service: full refund. 7 to 13 days: 50% refund. Less than 7 days: no refund. Date changes 7+ days out are free subject to availability (you'll pay any difference if moving to a higher-rate day).
How much deposit do I need to pay?
Standard deposit is $200. Weddings over $2,500, NYE, Christmas season and jobs over $5,000 require a $500 deposit. Balance is due 7 days before your service. Bank transfer free, credit card +1.6%.
Do you do early morning or late night pickups?
Yes. Pickups before 6am add $100 per vehicle per leg. Drop-offs after 10pm add $150 per vehicle per leg. These cover unsociable hours for our drivers , fair's fair.
What if our trip runs overtime?
First 15 minutes is free grace. After that we charge in 15-minute blocks at the vehicle's hourly rate (e.g. 14-seater $110/hr, 27-seater $155/hr, 41-seater $175/hr, 57-seater $200/hr). Just let the driver know and we'll sort it.
